Your Trainer

Ashawnee Jenkins

I have had a special interest in dogs all of my life. I never thought about pursuing a career in training because I never had the confidence in my handling or training abilities. Taking a step back, I realize I’ve accomplished a great number of goals with my personal dogs, as well as my friends’ and families’ and that I should have that confidence. I hope to change this in point of view of all dogs’ owners/handlers.

For two years in my late teens, I spent a lot of time starting horses with a friend. A job I wasn’t paid for, and for the amount of danger involved I should have been. I then went off to join the Navy, spent 6 months as kennel support in a military working dog kennel. As well as having shadowed with local ecollar trainers in the Treasure Valley. What did I gain from these experiences? Mostly what NOT to do. There is an ethical and balanced approach to dog training, and I’m here to show you.

I have been training dogs as a hobby for the last five years. I have successfully rehabbed a reactive doberman and shih tzu mix. Restored and built confidence, built foundations, and built stronger bonds with my own dogs and assisted my friends and family with their own dogs.
